Well my graduation show has come and gone and I’m just finishing up my last few assignments. And then I’m done school. It’s kind of a scary and sad feeling after 19 years of education, but I cannot begin to express how excited I am to finally start my career!
The 2011 Sheridan Illustration Grad Show was held last Thursday & Friday at the Burroughs building in Toronto. It showcased all 85 illustration grads in both the technical and interpretive streams, of which I am in the latter. Although it had a few hiccups (broken down elevator and we were on the 6th floor!) it went very smoothly and it was totally packed on opening night. I had a lot of fun and would like to thank all my friends, family, faculty and colleagues for making it a hugely successful night!
Here are the business cards I had printed for the grad show. I really like how they turned out and I think it was worth the extra money for the rounded corners.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a camera with me to the show so I have no pictures. I’m kicking myself because I feel like it was a major milestone of my life.
Here are some of the pieces that I displayed for the grad show (click to enlarge):
These first three images were made for my Visual Narrative class and as stated in a previous post, are based off of the novel ‘Water for Elephants’ by Sara Gruen. The last image was actually done for my thesis class. I got a little tired of drawing vikings believe it or not!
I also displayed slightly updated versions of my vampire image and my girl in the woods image which I have posted previously. I had another image of the Norse god Odin but I’m not happy with it yet and I’d like to work on it more before uploading it.
So with school finally finished I plan on doing a website revamp in the next few weeks and finally get my portfolio off of Carbonmade. I also plan on offering some of my images as prints so stay tuned!
